Remote Participation in a Yajna

A sacred ceremony at Kailash Dham Ashram with your name in the sankalpa

Join from any city or country. At the appointed time the pujari speaks your name in the sankalpa and makes offerings into the fire on your behalf, and after the ceremony you receive photos from the permitted stages and a message that it is complete.

How remote participation works

Four steps from choosing a yajna to the confirmation.

  1. Choose a yajna

    Group ceremony dates are in the schedule, and all 48 yajnas with descriptions are in the catalog. If you are unsure, the Telegram bot will help you find one for your request.

  2. Submit your sankalpa

    Fill in a short form on the site or in the Telegram bot. For a group yajna your first and last name are enough: they are spoken in the sankalpa. In the individual formats you also describe your intention, and it becomes your personal sankalpa.

  3. The ceremony at the ashram

    At the appointed time the pujaris perform the yajna by the rules of the tradition: they chant mantras, make offerings into the fire and speak the sankalpa with your name.

  4. Confirmation

    After the ceremony you receive photos from the permitted stages and a message that it is complete. How much material you get depends on the format.

While the ceremony is under way, you can be with us in thought or chant the mantra at home. How to prepare is covered in the answers below.

Questions and answers

How does remote participation fit the tradition?

In the tradition a rite can be performed on behalf of someone who is not present. The sankalpa is what connects them to it: the pujari speaks the participant's name and the purpose of the rite and makes offerings into the fire on their behalf. Group and individual yajnas (also spelled yagya) at Kailash Dham are held this way.

What do I receive after the ceremony?

In every format you receive photos from the permitted stages and a message that the ceremony is complete: the photos are posted in the Kailash Dham Telegram channel, and a manager sends the message to the contact in your request. In a group yajna your name is spoken in the shared sankalpa. In the individual formats the sankalpa is personal, and after the ceremony prasad is sent to you by post; the manager confirms the address after payment. What else each format includes is in the participation formats section.

Why isn't the whole ceremony broadcast?

The sacred part of the yajna is performed by the rules of the tradition and is not meant to be filmed. That is why photos and video are taken only at the permitted stages, and how much material you get depends on the format. Your name is spoken in the sankalpa at the fire whether or not that moment is on camera.

How is the sankalpa put together, and what happens to my data?

For a group yajna the site asks for your first and last name and a phone number: the name is spoken in the sankalpa, and the manager needs the phone to reach you. In the individual formats you add your intention, and the personal sankalpa is built from it; if the rite needs anything else, the manager will ask. The data is used to perform the rite and to contact you. We do not pass it to third parties without your consent, except the payment provider when you pay. Details are in the privacy policy (in Ukrainian).

How do I prepare for remote participation?

☝️ Before participating, be sure to join the Kailash Dham group! link

The group publishes announcements about the beginning and end of each yagya, as well as photo and video reports after the practice.

The channel also features the schedule of upcoming events and other useful information.

There are several levels of engagement for remote participation:

1

If you are busy or unable to be actively involved in the process.

In this case, you are with us in spirit, and all actions during the yagya are performed by the pujari on your behalf.

2

If you are familiar with the Vedic or Eastern tradition.

During the yagya, you may recite a mantra independently and hold your attention on your sankalpa.

3

For deeper engagement in the process.

A light fast is recommended the day before the yagya.

Before the start, it is advisable to:

  • take a shower;
  • put on clean clothes;
  • prepare a clean and quiet space;
  • light incense or a lamp if you wish.

After the announcement that the yagya has begun:

  • focus on your sankalpa;
  • recite a mantra;
  • maintain a calm and attentive state.

After the practice ends, spend some time in silence and inner gratitude.

If you have any questions

You may ask them in the Kailash Dham group chat. link

Can I come to the ceremony in person?

Yes. The ashram is in the Kyiv region, near Dymer. Sign up for a date from the schedule the same way as for remote participation, and arrange the details of your visit with the manager or in the Telegram bot. The rules for visitors are on the home page.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, under the refund policy (in Ukrainian). If the ceremony is 7 or more days away, we refund 100%; if it is sooner, part of the amount, decided case by case. Once the ceremony has started, there is no refund. Instead of a refund you can move your participation to another date, and if the ashram cancels or moves the ceremony, we refund the full amount or offer another date.
