Why Understanding Alone Is Often Not Enough

Spiritual Practice

In everyday life we understand a simple thing very well: when a person goes to see a doctor, they rarely stop at just the diagnosis. They go through an examination, listen to the specialist’s explanation, receive recommendations, get a prescription, buy the medicine, follow the regimen, change their diet, undergo treatment, and after some time come back for a follow-up consultation.

The diagnosis itself matters. But a diagnosis is not the whole path. It helps you understand what is happening. And then action begins: treatment, discipline, observation, changing habits, taking responsibility for your condition.

Something similar happens with an astrological consultation. A person comes to an astrologer to understand why certain events keep repeating in their life, where the problems lie, what period they are going through, and what needs attention. An astrological consultation helps reveal the map of what is happening.

But if a person receives an explanation, writes down the recommendations, and puts that piece of paper in a drawer, the knowledge remains only knowledge. It may bring relief, clarity, and may calm the mind for a while. But without a next step, it rarely becomes a real change.

A consultation shows where attention is needed, and spiritual practice helps express that attention through action. This is exactly why, after a consultation with an astrologer, upayas matter so much: yagya, puja, abhisheka, mantra, prayer, offering, personal discipline, charity, or another recommended spiritual action. An upaya is not a substitute for personal responsibility. It is a way of responding to what was seen in the chart with a mature step. This way, the consultation stops being merely an explanation of one’s fate. It becomes the beginning of a path.

If, after a consultation with an astrologer, you feel that you need a spiritual continuation, you can turn to Kailash Dham for a yagya, puja, abhisheka or another form of upaya. We will help clarify the format of the ritual, prepare the sankalpa, and carry out the spiritual practice with respect for the tradition, for you, and for your inner path.

Understanding opens the door. Spiritual action helps you walk through it.
